In an interesting PR stunt, Kronenburg 1664 beer opened a bar. The establishment was in London’s SoHo neighborhood, and it was only open for the night of May 6th. That’s not the most interesting thing about this bar, though.
No, the most interesting aspect of this entire stunt was the staffing choice that Kronenburg made for the event and the bar itself. The bar was staffed entirely by dogs. No, seriously, look at these pictures, I’m not lying.
The event sold out almost instantaneously, as people were extremely interested in going to a bar staffed by dogs. That was obviously Kronenburg’s plan with this. All of the dogs were specially trained Alsatians, which was to celebrate Kronenburg’s roots in Alasce, France.
Kronenburg did run into a probably with having a bar staffed by dogs. Dogs, in case you don’t know, don’t have hands, and aren’t able to hand people cold bottles of beer. Luckily, each dog was outfitted with a special barrel-shaped bottle holder than could be used to deliver guests’s drinks.
