WWII Nurse Who Refused Chemotherapy To Explore The World Passes Away At 91

Norma Bauerschmidt, 90, was in the hospital in 2015, she had recently been diagnosed with stage four uterine cancer. Tragically, two days before she got this devastating news, her husband, Leo, died. They had been married for 67 years. Bauerschmidt (aka Miss Norma) told him that she was going to hit the road and refused treatment.

It is easy to imagine that had the past few weeks of Norma’s life had not been as they were, maybe she would have opted for treatment. Instead – she opted to have some fun with what was left of her life!

Norma’s son Tim and his wife Ramie were living life on the road in a vintage Airstream trailer and Norma was going to join them for an epic road trip!

By her side, Norma had her loyal canine, Ringo. Norma’s decision enjoy life and refuse treatment had inspired people across the country.
