Finding a stray animal by the side of the road is a struggle for anyone who’s not used to taking care of animals. The ordeal is even more dire when it’s a wild animal that has no one to look to for help. Divan Grobler discovered a wild baby rhino by the side of the road that was no more than a few hours old. It was already malnourished, and was in need of its mother’s milk.
But the longer Divan waited, the more he realized that she wasn’t going to come back. Thankfully, Divan worked for the Aquila Rescue Center and knew exactly what to do. Once they got the baby back, they developed an 18-month plan that would help the baby to grow and develop before it was time to be reintroduced into the wild. He needed bottle feeding every two hours and was filled with so much energy, that playtime became one of the best parts of his day.

He learns to splash around in the mud, and will soon be taught how to graze on solid foods! Share away, people!
