The sweet Arabian rescue horse named Aww-gee fell on ice in his pasture in Pittsburgh and could not get up. Now, he’s up and running. His owner Val Patsiga rescued the horse from starvation more than thirty years ago, and called 911 right away after seeing Aww-gee’s hind feet fall beneath him.
The firefighters and police took the horse on a sled, covered by a blanket in the freezing cold, to a tow truck to try to help him stand. This didn’t succeed, so they tried to get his blood circulating in his hind legs and fed him sugar and grain.

Soon, Aww-gee was as good as new. Patsiga says she’s extremely grateful for the rescue effort and plans to donate. Share away, people!
