It’s a difficult thing to come to terms with the fact that our dogs are going to pass one before us. Having them in our lives seems to make everything better, and it’s sad that we can’t live out our days with them. But the best we can do is make their lives as comfortable as possible in their final years, and hope that we’re still making the happy.
That’s what Todd Burchanowski wanted to do for his dog who had just received a diagnosis of terminal cancer. He didn’t want to put his dog down right away; instead, he decided to make the most out of the time his dog Reyes had left. So he called on the assistance of the friends who knew the pooch best to come up with a bucket list of things to do before the inevitable day.
It all started off with a picture of Reyes and Todd on a fire truck, and the rest of their journey spiraled from there.
Reyes has gone for a slow motion run on the beach, got to enjoy a lovely meal at McDonald’s, and even had a wedding with the boy dog next door.

She got the chance to meet a cow and go for a rehabilitation swim too.
#39 “Swim!!!” A special thanks to the absolutely great people at Balance Veterinary Rehabilitation Services for allowing Reyes to fulfill her swimming bucket list item. Truly blessed to have so many people help us with the list!!!

But what she enjoyed doing more than anything else was sticking her head out of the top of her dad’s Jeep.
Reyes’ list was long, but she got to accomplish everything that was on it, giving her the fullest experiences in life before her ultimate passing. Please share this beautiful post with your friends too…
