Decan Andersen rescued a little 4-week-old squirrel that had fallen out of a tree. The little red squirrel had gotten a cut on this chest on his way down.
Decan said he didn’t want to interfere, but when he saw what he thought was the mother squirrel come, sniff the injured baby and then leave – he couldn’t just let the little squirrel die.
Decan went outside, scooped up the baby squirrel and called his vet. Once inside the house Decan’s cat, Coco started to care for the little guy by washing him off and snuggling close to help keep him warm!
After the vet patched up and bandaged the cut, Decan brought the squirrel home. The squirrel wouldn’t keep the dressing on and kept scratching at the wound. Decan had to improvise with an old sock.
The sock allowed the wound to heal! But it took some time. Decan soon named the squirrel, Tintin. Tintin was fed kitten milk from a bottle.
